R Two Bits looks to give you our own version of that age old colloquialism meaning two bits, or 25 cents of a dollar. It reportedly originated from the Spanish pieces of eight, where eight pieces equaled a dollar. We prefer its popularization in the American West of the early 1800s, where coins were divided into 2, 4, 6, or 8 bits. Later, it became a slang term meaning to give one’s opinion.
